The Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information oversees compliance with data protection in the state of Berlin as an independent supreme state authority. She audits and advises Berlin authorities, associations and companies based in the state of Berlin on data protection and freedom of information issues. It is the point of contact for data protection questions from individuals and for complaints in specific cases.
We are looking for reinforcement for our IT department. Our internal IT - from workstation PCs to servers and e-files - is the backbone of our authority's work processes. In a complex, heterogeneous IT landscape, it is important to support employees in their day-to-day work and to further develop our information, communication and collaboration tools in the long term through projects.

Responsibilities:
- Technical administration of our IT systems - including networks, servers and desktop workstations
- Competent and service-oriented point of contact for employees

- Diagnosis, troubleshooting and further development of system modules and configurations.
Documenting the IT infrastructure and work processes and contributing ideas for improvement.Involvement in internal projects and concepts for the further development of authority-wide IT services.Designing and optimizing operational processes to ensure stable and reliable system operation.
Your profile:
Formal requirements:
- Completed training as an IT specialist in system integration or completed relevant university of applied sciences or bachelor's degree (e.g. computer science)
- Or equivalent skills based on several years of proven professional experience in comparable areas of responsibility

Professional requirements:
- Good skills in administration and configuration in the Windows server and client environment including MS Exchange and server virtualization
- Skilled in the maintenance and administration of central applications
- Sure handling of network technology and ability to assess security risks
- Confident handling of common Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel), the Internet and common operating systems
- Good knowledge of data backup, data recovery and archiving
An advantage:
- Experience in Linux server administration
- Administration of Active Directory
- Understanding of IP networks and terminal server environments
- Administration of mail servers
- Installation, desktop management and software distribution on client systems
- Scripting and device management
- Good knowledge of English
